OMG, Like, Totally 80s!

Sorry for the lateness of today's post, I estimate that of the past 24 or so hours, I've been awake only a handful of them..maybe 4? Today's mani is also simple, and I get to use one of my new polishes that I got the other day from ROSS!! (Super cheap, too!) The colors totally remind me of 80s fashion colors, hence the title.

I used Color Club Pure Energy from the Electro Candy Collection as a base, with Massini Power Pack applied with a pipe cleaner. Topped it off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.

Back to bed. Sleeping is my only relief from the neck and shoulder agony right now. It even hurts to breathe. The chiro yesterday didn't help much, but it didn't hurt that he was smokin' hot, either. ;)

OPI - Absolutely Alice

OPI Absolutely Alice

Hi guys! For today I have one of OPI's masterpieces to show you. You've probably seen it around by now, but I was saving it for a special occasion: seeing Alice in Wonderland! Yesterday I finally got to see the movie I was so excited about. Naturally I just had to wear Absolutely Alice!

This gorgeous medium blue glitter with its golden particles is really something else. My picture isn't doing any justice to it at all, trust me. Application was alright, I applied 'only' 2 coats, since a 3rd caused my nails to look lumpy, and we don't want that do we ;-). The finish is kinda rough, so I applied two layers of David top coat. It's so shiny and sparkly, for me this is the star of the Alice in Wonderland collection.

So, my nails and I were ready for the movie. Even though I liked it, I was rather disappointed. This movie was a stunner to look at, but gorgeous visuals aren't enough in my book: the characters were lacking some serious depth. And skills for that matter. Even Johnny Depp didn't sweep me off my feet this time. Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen was just perfect though, I adore her.

I'm a huge Tim Burton fan, but this movie is hopelessly bland. Have you seen it? What do you think?

I'm With the Band-ana.

Howdy, y'all!! (best read with a country accent) Today's nails have been in my mind for ages, ever since I got the plate actually... I totally think that the paisley design on plate m60 looks like a Bandana print... so I did bandana nails.

I used China Glaze Salsa as a base on the red nails, and American Apparel Mount Royal as a base on the blue nail. For the pattern, I applied Sally Hansen All the White Stuff with Konad Plate m60. Topped it off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat, so my nails will be ready for any rodeo that comes along!! :-P

K, I'm going to lay down, just got back from the Chiro, which felt good for about 5 min after, and now I'm in pain again. *sigh*

Nails and ring set

Here is another ring-nails set that i came up with recently.
It looks a little more like winter rather then spring, but i still like it.
I sponged the light green transparent ring with the same zoya nail polish that used as a base coat for my nails. I was trying to make keep the ring semi transparent, but it did not turned really great, and a ring is nos as bright and even as nails, but however i am really pleased with the drawing on the ring.
I really love to make nails-ring sets - i think all together it looks fantastic, and catch lots of attention. Everybody are asking me where did get this service. lol

ROCK STAR AND MUCH MORE

Drink Me, I'm Irish!

Ok, so I'm not Irish, but with my naturally pale skin, freckles, and red hair, I certainly look the part! :-P Sooooo, in honor of St. Patty's Day, I painted pints of Guinness on my nails (and some shamrocks, of course!!) My favorite part is that the brown I used is MAC's Rick, Dark, Delicious....could there be a more PERFECT color name to use for Guinness?!

I used MAC Rich, Dark, Delicious as a base, then mixed with American Apparel Cotton for the 'head' or foam. For the Shamrocks, I used Pure Ice Wild Thing. Topped everything off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.

And, to match my nails.....

GUINNESS CUPCAKES!!!!

Here is where I found the recipe, since so many people were interested in it:

St Patrick nails vol. 2

So here is the second green manicure that i promised you yesterday. Here i used different shades of green then in previous Mani. I like those shades better.
Also i decided to update my blog design to something spring looking. So the green design is not about St. Patrick day, but however represent a spring and dreams about summer.
Check out my new header - this is actually first time i don't have a nails or manicures on my header, but i think i came up with the pretty creative one ,and crazy as well.
It suppose to look like the grace is draining out of the nail polish bottle, and form the grace island that host the tron. And the nails polish bottle is actually located on this tron... I know this is crazy... but do YOU like it?

I'm Not at 'Liberty' to Say

Sorry today's post is late today, I fell asleep on the couch last night while watching TV, and woke up late this morning, too late to do my nails before work. SOOOOO you get after-work nails!! YAYYYYY! Tonight I get to make Guinness Chocolate Cupcakes for St. Pat's Day tomorrow!!! They're delish!! MMMM.

I used MAC Blue India, the gorgeous new color from their Liberty of London Collection as a base, with Sally Hansen All the White Stuff sponged on the tips, and then two layers of Essie Funky Limelight sponged over that! :)

Thinking I might drink a Guinness while the cupcakes bake- good idea? I think so.

H&M New colors for spring + swatches

H&M colors for spring

Last week I was doing some quick shopping and luckily I stumbled upon 4 new colors by H&M! I think they're quite new because two weeks ago they weren't there. H&M always manages to surprise me, because they add new colors to their selection often!

I love that these are happy bright colors, which is kinda refreshing after all the pastels we've been seeing lately (not that I don't love those ;-) ). It may look like these are all cremes, but in reality they're all shimmery polishes. Personally I would've liked them better as cremes, but still, I think they're pretty cute!

H&M U are smoking hot

U Are Smokin Hot - I'm not really a orangy type a person, but I love this one! I applied 2 coats and this one had the best application out of the four. I love that it's such a happy color. I don't really care for the names H&M came up with, but hey, at least they're trying! ;-)

H&M aquatini

Aquatini - This name I didn't mind that much. Aquatini is a turquoise shimmery polish, although the shimmer doesn't feel like showing up on photos. I applied 2 coats, but I think it needs 3. Thing is, the formula of this polish was rather goopy, so 3 coats would have left me with a very wobbly surface, so I decided against it. Normally I would thin it, but I'm all out of thinner! :-O

H&M material girl

Material Girl - It's pretty, if you love pink. It has a blueish flash which I adore. On the downside, there are a gazillion polishes like this. It does pop, so it's still a very entertaining color. Again, I applied 2 rather goopy coats.

H&M just a fling

Just a Fling - A pretty medium violet/purple, with some red undertones. Like Aquatini, it needs 3 coats, but I only applied 2. Very delicate shimmer.

Overall, I was pretty pleased with the colors H&M came up with, but in the end, I found the formula of all of these a bit disappointing. Not that it's that bad, but I guess I was expecting a lot more from these, since all of my other H&M polishes apply like a dream! What do you think of the new colors?

With that said, I'm wishing you a good night! Thanks for stopping by and till next time :-)

St. Patrick Nail Marathon

Well may be not really Marathon, but i have 2 green manicures for you this year, one for today and one for tomorrow. I finally remembered about this holiday, this is my first year to remember :)
That was a pleasure to make this manicure, because i recently realized that i have a quite broad selection of different shades of green in my Nail polish collection.
So, on this particular manicure i created extra dimension effect with the additional layering holo green stamp underneath the leave. That was quite hard to capture on the pics, but it actually turned out interesting and playful.
