That's Just Grey-t

Hey there kids!! (Don't worry, I call everyone kid, regardless of their years) So the Bad Religion concert las night was PUNK-tastic. I had a blast, and got a rad t-shirt that earns me dirty looks when I wear it. (Google Bad Religion images, you'll see why) Today was a busy day- I went and tried on (and bought) the bridesmaid dress for the wedding I'm going to be in in May, and it was surprisingly VERY flattering. (the color will be a different story- Guava is not a color that should be in a redhead's vocabulary. (or wardrobe). After that, I helped a good friend paint his bedroom- Ground Cumin is the color, and it turned out fantastic. He was smart not to question my interior design skills. :-P I love picking out paint colors for people, perhaps one day I'll have my own house and can do it for myself!! I managed to squeeze in a nap in there, which was great, too.

Today's nails are simple, but I really like them, and despite the beginning of my experience with butterLondon (took 5.5 weeks to get my polishes due to Paypal marking the order as complete, and no one returned emails from BL), I am 100% in love with the one polish I've tried out of the 3 I bought... Billy No Mates! It applied smoothly, and only took 2 coats to be opaque.

I used 2 coats of butterLONDON Billy No Mates as base, with 1 coat of Essie Matte About You, then for the moons, I used about 8,000 coats of Urban Outfitters Grey 1, it was pretty hard to get opaque and even. For the ring finger moon, I used American Apparel Berry. I also used American Apparel Berry for the 'stitching' on the grey moon fingers, and Urban Outfitters Grey 1 for the stitching on the ring finger.

How is everyone's weekend going? I get to wake up early for class, blargh. :-D My weekend off last week because of Spring Break felt nice. :)

OPI - DS Original

Hello dear reader! How is everyone doing? I had the most awesome day yesterday, Daphne from Nailswatches, Michelle from TheLacquerFiles and myself went nail polish hunting. It was so much fun! We visited a wholesale with lots of ChinaGlaze, and within expectations we all kinda went crazy ha!

Anyway, for today I have another purple holo to show you! This is Original from the Designer Series by OPI, I don't think the color is as jaw-droppingly gorgeous as Color Club's Wild At Heart, which I showed you last week, but it's still pretty steamy, and definitely more holographic as well.

The holographic effect is a bit scattered, not as dense as the Nfu Oh holos for example, and that's just how I like it. Application was alright, nothing outstanding, 3 coats quickly dried to a perfectly smooth surface.
What I like about these holos by OPI, it that they're quite shiny, so you can easily wear them without a top coat. Actually, they say these polishes from the Designer Series are infused with Diamond Dust. This is supposed to "reflect light in an explosion of brilliance", well I don't know if it's the diamond dust, but it's pretty sparkly. And diamonds are a girl's best friend, right?

Thanks for stopping by!

Stash Pics!

I did not only have too little time to blog but also to put away my newly acquired pretties and the polishes I used so my house was in chaos. Time to reorganise!

The Konad polishes still need to be put away and the drawer with treatments and topcoats still has to be sorted out but then spring cleaning will be over! Polishes I didn't like or that I want to swap, franken or give away are all filtered out so everything is nice and organized.

My stash was organised by colour but all those different bottles mixed up made me kind of crazy so I'm trying organising by brand for now.

Zoya, Orly, Art de Lautrec, Viva la Diva, Misa, Essie and Catrice and the empty slot has now been filled with 12 Layla's

Junkdrawer with Milani, Glam Girl, Depend, Diamond Cosmetics, BarryM and a couple of frankens in the back

China Glaze, P2, Nubar, BB Couture, Nfu Oh and RBL

OPI, $OPI, Gosh, Cheeky Monkey, one Models Own and a lot of Essence

Hoeveel lakjes heb jij?

Total damage: 243 after tossing out around 50-70. How many polishes do you own?

Dukes of 'Hazard'

ACK! People are sick here at work, everywhere I turn, *cough* *HACK* *sniff*. Gross. Major gross. They inspired today's nails... the Biohazard symbol. :) I really hope that I don't get sick, that is about the last thing I need right now. :-/ On the bright side, going to a Bad Religion concert tonight- woo! :)

I used Electric Orange as a base, with American Apparel Hassid. Sealed the deal with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.

Put your dukes up!

Surprisingly Orange Nail Art

Hello my Sweet Nail-art lovers.
I am not kidding today calling this design "Surprisingly" Orange.
Originally flowers were painted in red and white, but after i put on the top coat white paint turned yellow. That was super wired, it nether happened before with this paint. And i used different top coats, so it was not a top coat issue. So wile color changing is a misery, i think i even like it better this way. I really like the design, and looks really bright and summer like.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A BLOGSTAR!

I definitely go through different phases with the nail art. On these four sets of nails I went a little crazy with the nail polish and striping brush. A little polish can always take a design to the next level.

I bought some "sugar coating" glitter in pink, blue, yellow and purple from the craft store and mixed it together with clear acrylic to create this look. I added dried flowers to every finger for some spring time fun.

On these nails I faded two colors from sparklesnailproducts.com. I added clay flowers on the ring fingers and finished with my signature dots.

This is impression nail art with spring colors.

I added orange and yellow mylar on these nails to make them super sparkly!

I Ain't No Ho-Ho!

:-D ok, I'll admit, today's title cracks me up. I'm SUCH a dork.

The inspiration for today's nails came a few months ago via email from Niki C., of Polish on Digital Paper fame, and while I've gotten inspiration from other designs people have sent in before, (with permission, of course ;)) I usually don't copy them stroke for stroke... These however, were too awesome not to, I loved their quirky simplicity. Thanks Niki, you rock! :)

I used MAC Showy as a base (can't find it for sale), then used my white Migi Nail Art Pen for the frosting swirl. Topped it all off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat to simulate the tasty glossy chocolate frosting. Oh damn, I know what I'm going to buy at lunch. *drool*

Anybody got any milk?!

Giveaway Winner!

Hi all, I know I've been absent for way too long but I couldn't let this stretch out too long. First of all a big thank you to everyone who entered! I liked hosting a giveaway so I definitely plan on doing more of these in the future.

Second I would like to thank Enchantra for sponsoring this giveaway and for offering a 15% discount in their webshop to my readers with the code DTCHNLBLG.

I've counted all the entries and then went back to count the number of second entries and listed all those. I did it this way to spread the chances of winning for everyone. If you had two entries because you blogged, tweeted or announced my giveaway in any way, shape or form and let me know about it your entries would not be following numbers but for instance be numbered #1 and #78.

Then I used www.random.org to decide who the winner would be and the lucky number is:

"Too bad, I won't have the balls to put an announce at my local supermarket. Ah ah!
Let's keep it simple: I'm a follower on here via blogspot (and I'm in Europe). Smile

It's great to celebrate Spring. <3>

Nathalie van Jellynat! Gefeliciteerd Nathalie!

Nathalie from Jellynat! Congrats Nathalie! I sent you an email to collect your shipping info so Enchantra can send you your price!

China Glaze - Peachy Keen

Hello my sweet Nail-Art Lovers.
The moment i saw this polish on the promo pictures, even before the colelction was relesed, i knew that i get to have this color. So i finally recently got it and sharing pics with you today.
I know i can play it out with much more fun, and i will, i promise, it is just that super busy those days.

Blue shimmer comparison: Misa VS. OPI

Misa A Sin Worth Committing OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue!

Hi guys! Initially I wasn't planning on posting this tonight, because I had another great polish in mind. Unfortunately my David top coat decided to eat half of it, I've never ever experienced this before, but my pretty polish became victim of the dreaded 'shrinkage'.
Therefore, I'm not going to bother you with some lousy pics of this mishap.

Instead, I have a comparison for you to look at. I've been wanting to compare these two for a while now: Misa's 'A Sin Worth Committing' versus OPI's "Yoga-ta Get This Blue!". I found out about the similarities between the two when I was reorganizing my Helmer. At first, looking at the bottles, I thought they were blatant dupes, but they're not, albeit almost. It's hard to pick up on, but the shimmer that lives inside 'Yoga-ta Get This Blue' has a more turquoise hue to it. But they're so incredibly close that if you'd wear these two polishes at the same time, I'm sure no one would notice! So, I'd say these two are rather dupe-y.

The main difference lies in the formula though. 'A Sin Worth Committing' beats 'OPI's Yoga-ta Get This Blue' any day! I only needed to apply 2 coats of the first and 3 coats of the latter. ASW just glides on, where YGTB is more sheer and a wee bit on the gloppier side. Thanks to her flawless application Misa is a true winner here. If you ever have to decide between these two, you know which one to pick.

With that said, I want to thank you all for stopping by! Have a great night everyone!
