I am back

Hello my sweet dear Nail-art lovers.
That was an amazing week for me, i fell in love with San Francisco and California. We had such a great time where, and i am truly amazed by this city. Those of you who live in around SF - you, guys are so so lucky :) I ll later post some pictures from the trip, as soon as i get a chance to look at it.
Anyway, right now i have for you a manicure...
I had some really weird experience in the San Francisco exploratorium - we went through "Tactile Dome". In a few words - it is a spherical path that you have to crow in the complete darkness, with only scene of touch as a guidness. If youa re interested you can just google it or read this review - which i find really cool and vivid - http://itotd.com/articles/236/the-tactile-dome/
The sad thing is that i did not really get to enjoy it as much as a writer of this review, because i freaked so bad, that right now i am even ashamed of it. Likely Eric was where with me, and i hold his hand the entire trip - so again i did not really get much of the tactile experience :( I just wish i was not so afraid ,and i regret now not going second time.
So this manicure is inspired buy this interesting experience in tactile dome.

We're All Mad Here

So I went. A YEAR (give or take) of buildup. It was SOOOOOO worth it, it was amazing!!! I recommend it. It's amusing though, sometimes if you listen really hard at just the right time when Hatter is talking, you can hear Capt. Jack Sparrow. :-P Today I did another Alice in Wonderland themed mani, though today's design is from the 1951 version...the Cheshire Cat!! :)

I used Essie Lilacism as a base, with Eclectic Purple for the stripes, head, and mixed with Essie Lilacism for the tip of the tail, the face and the paw. For the black lines I used Zoya Raven, for the eyes, Diamond Cosmetics #319 Lemon Yellow Zest, for the smile, Sally Hansen All the White Stuff, and for the nose, a mix of China Glaze Salsa and Nubar Milk Chocolate Creme. For the background on the thumb, I used Zoya Dovima. Topped everything off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.

All in all it didn't turn out as well as I envisioned, but what can ya do. Next time maybe? :-P Let's just hope that it's not off with my HEAD!!!! :-P

A in W

Hey all, I've saved up some Alice manis for the next few days in honor of the movie, which I am SOOOOOO beyond excited for. (I've had a countdown on my dashboard of my computer for I'd say about a year now?) Today's Alice nails are the backgrounds for the promotional character posters.

I used:

Thumb: Queen of Hearts/Red Queen/Helena Bonham Carter

China Glaze Salsa as a base, with a mixture of China Glaze Salsa and Nubar Milk Chocolate Creme sponged over it, then that same combo used to paint the hearts. On top of that I lightly sponged more China Glaze Salsa to get the grungy effect of the poster.

Index: Alice/Mia Wasikowska

Barielle Sweet Addiction as a base, with Zoya Envy lightly sponged, as well as used for the keyholes. Barielle Sweet Addiction was then again used to sponge on top.

Middle: Mad Hatter/Johnny Depp

Pure Ice Wild Thing as a base, with a mixture of Pure Ice Wild Thing and Nubar Forest sponged on top, Nubar Forest for the hats, and then Pure Ice Wild Thing sponged on top.

Ring: White Queen/Anne Hathaway

American Apparel Cotton, with Urban Outfitters Matte Nude 1 sponged on top, as well as for the hearts. American Apparel Cotton was then sponged again on top.

Pinky: Cheshire Cat/Stephen Fry

Eclectic Purple as a base, with Zoya Pinta sponged on top, as well as for the stars. Eclectic Purple was also used to sponge on top.

Everything got 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.

Lastly, a pic of two onesies that I screenprinted for a co-worker who is having a baby (I thought that since she is our trademark researcher/facilitator/whathaveyou, that it'd be funny to take the last name and add a ™ for the onesies, since a ™ is a source identifier, and, well it would be funny in my mind.) Luckily, she thought it was hilarious. :-D

Let's combine some glitter and flakies!

Gosh Blue Monday Nfu Oh 56

Oh no! Yesterday Blogger decided to have my blog post for dinner! So if you experienced some weird things going on around here, it's due to crazy Blogger! I might rewrite it soon, but today I have something else to show you. I've worn both colors before but never combined them. I layered Nfu Oh #56 on top of Gosh' Blue Monday. I just love to layer flakies over glitter, it creates an amazing depth. Application of both polishes is good, but Blue Monday is pretty sheer and needs 3 or 4 coats.

Gosh Blue Monday Nfu Oh 56

The funniest thing happened today though, I was snapping pics in the kitchen, next to window, and a man stopped to see what I was doing! I only noticed after a while, he stood there watching, and stayed there for like 2 minutes! I wasn't even dressed yet :'). Of course I ran away, he must have thought I was crazy, making pictures of my hands like that. Did you ever get caught like this? :-D

ST. PATRICK'S DAY

These nails are done with a glitter from sparklesnailproducts.com called shamrock. I faded it with a gold and added some irish beer stickers! Too fun!

On these nails I grabbed all of my green glitters mixed them together and came up with this cute color. This client loves green so it was perfect for her.

I made these gold stars using an impression tool from young nails.

I always think any color looks best with a little black added. Love the green and black with a fimo clay shamrock for good luck!

This is an acrylic from the young nails block party collection.

These are fimo clay ying yang's from kennickkreations.com

This is nebula with pink and white fimo clay dots. I can't remember if I've already posted a similar picture of this on my blog. I guess you just can't have too much of a good thing.

This is a fade I did from side to side to mix it up a little bit. The hibiscus flowers are fimo clay.

On these nails I did a fade with pink and purple. I did each nail a little bit different.

OPI - My Espana favorites & Upcoming Shrek Collection!

Hi guys! How is everyone? I'm a bit sick today but thankfully I had already prepared this post yesterday, so I only had to push the Publish button (well, and write this of course) :-D.

I wanted to show you my favorites from the Espana collection by OPI. This collection came out last fall, and I was pleasantly suprised! The colors that came out were wonderful, I liked almost every polish out of this collection. I'm sure you've all seen them by now but I wanted to show you two favorites of mine..

OPI Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow

The first one, and my ultimate favorite, is Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow. This is a stunning blackened dark green. It has a jelly-like finish so It's incredibly shiny, even on it's own. The application was pretty good, the first coat went on really sheer but the 2nd coat makes up for that. I applied 3 coats, to get an opaque result.

OPI Pamplona Purple

The other color I absolutely adore, is Pamplona Purmple. It's a beautiful purple creme, with an amazing application. 2 quick coats and you're good to go!

After OPI's Absolutely Alice and the Hong Kong collection, they're already working on a new one: The Shrek After Forever collection.

OPI Shrek After Forever Collectionfrom left to right: Funky Dunkey, What's with the Cattitude?, Rumple's Wiggin', Who the Shrek Are You?, Ogre-the-Top Blue and Fiercely Fiona.

I can't wait to try these! What do you think?

Don't Make a Scene!

Today's nails were inspired by events that took place on March 3, 2010.

This is a dramatic representation of actual events.

I went to the LAPD Homicide/Crime Evidence Exhibit last night here in Las Vegas. There was evidence from heinous crimes like the Manson Murders (The Manson Murder Vehicle, ropes used to tie up Sharon Tate, etc), Black Dahlia, OJ Simpson (Gloves, hat, etc), and a number of other murders and assaults. It was fascinating, but truly disturbing/sickening to be mere inches from instruments of terror. One of the more disturbing things was seeing the footage of the Manson women, they were so enthralled with him, saying so many wonderful things about him, etc.

Anyway.

I used Diamond Cosmetics #319 Lemon Yellow Zest as a base, with Zoya Dovima painted over for the asphalt, and Zoya Raven for the lettering. For the chalk outline, I used OPI Alpine Snow Matte.

Envy & Rage

Wow, today's post sounds mean and horrible!! When I sat down to paint my nails for today, I'll admit, I wasn't feeling overly inspired. Marbles tend to be my fallback when that happens, so today, I give you a marbled design. :-P

I used Orly Shine as a base, then marbled Orly Rage, China Glaze Metallic Muse, and ULTA Envy. Topped it off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.

Note: The Foil FX polish didn't like to play well with others, it separated badly when I tried to marble it.

Round roses and fluffy flowers

Pink and more pink!

Cute round roses on a girly pink base. Added pink and gold disco balls instead of crystals.

Very lovely and sweet. Especially on round nails.

Did this for a bride. Baby pink tips with holo stars and flakes inlay.

Added fluffy white flowers and crystals. :D
