Nfu Oh 51 Revisited

nfu oh 51

Nfu Oh 51

Oh Nfu Oh 51.. If there's one polish that got me into nail polish big time, this is the one. I've written about it before, but there's no such thing as too much attention when we're talking Nfu Oh 51. Come on, just look at it! It's like magic on your nails.
A beautiful blurple base, glowiness, flakies, no wait, DUOCHROME flakies, Nfu Oh 51 has it all. No wonder it's always out of stock somewhere..

nfu oh 51

The awesomeness that's Nfu Oh 51, is hard to capture on camera though. Sometimes it's leaning more towards purple and at other times it's definitely more of a glowy red. Especially in low light you can see the duochrome flakies change color like a chameleon: from red to orange to green. For this manicure I layered it over Claire's Magic, a purple polish with lots of shimmer, an absolutely perfect candidate to team up with #51.

Application

You can use #51 on its own or you can layer it like I did. If you want to wear it on its own, you'll need about three coats. If you're going to layer it, just one layer will give you the effect you see in the photos. The formula is kinda jelly and squishy, so I'd suggest using a quickdrying top coat with this. One layer of top coat will smooth out the flakies and add more intensity to the color.

You can order Nfu Oh 51 ($9.90 for 17ml) at Viis Ilusalong or ($12.50 for 17ml) at Fabuloustreet.com (I suggest paying with paypal as there were some credit card troubles in the past..) or at Nail XL (currently out of stock).

Koh - Blue Universe

Koh Blue Universe

Dazzle

Everything but boring. A good description for an extraordinary bottle of nail polish. Koh, a Dutch brand, happens to have some true stunners in their collection. And guess what? Blue Universe is no exception.

Blue Universe is a denim blue nail polish, enriched with duochrome flakies that flash from orange to green. That's just the beginning though, there's also plenty shimmer and glitter to feast your eyes upon. When I'm in the mood for a complex and distinctive polish, I can absolutely count on Blue Universe.

Koh Blue Universe

Application

Does it apply as beautifully as it looks? Yes, it does! Two quickdrying coats and you're good to go. It does need a final layer of top coat to give it that glossy look, because it does dry rather matte.
I do find the brushes of Koh polishes to be a bit thin, but nothing I can't work with. The two major letdowns of Koh polishes are their price and availability. I don't know about you, but I don't find €14,95 a bottle that cheap. If you're living outside The Netherlands, you might have trouble finding a place to purchase these Dutch gems.

Koh Blue Universe

In The Netherlands you can buy Koh polishes for 14,95 EUR each at Douglas, MOOI or Bijenkorf. If you're outside Holland you can try your luck over at their online shop.

Possibly an Easter Mani

I cannot even believe Easter is on Sunday! It came so quick. I hadn't even really though about what mani I would do, so I was looking through my stash and saw my Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure, and I still had the Sally Hansen Blue-Away on my side table, so I used them together. This would make a great Easter mani, but I'm still not sure....
I started with 2 coats of Blue-Away, and added 1 coat of Hidden Treasure. (I didn't have either bottles with me, when it was picture time)

William...meet Flakie.....and some shopping

So I started my morning off feeling great, wearing a new cardi that I am absolutely IN LOVE WITH. I love those days when you have a good hair, outfit and makeup day. They are so rare for me, lol. Anyways, I really wanted a vampy color and decided to try this one, OPI William Tell Me About OPI. I think I only swatched it once when I got it but never actually wore it. Anyways, I also purchased a new necklace and wanted a mani that would semi resemble it, and that is where the flakies come in. Okay, well I started with 2 coats of the OPI

Then I added Nfu-Oh 50 over top

and then China Glaze Matte Magic, because I think matted flakies look so cool

Okay, now I know this is off topic, but I had to show you guys my new cardi! I love love love it. I got it off of Hautelook, which I'm semi addicted to, for a fairly decent price. It's made by Romeo & Juliet. I have received more compliments on this, than any other thing I've worn in a very long time, and mainly from strangers, lol.

and here is the necklace I purchased. I know a water marble would have matched better, but I had no time for that this morning, lol. So flakies had to do. If you can't tell, it's a maple leaf :P

So I loved my new cardi so much, that I NEEDED another one, so after some searching, I found one on eBay, lol, and snatched it up. I cannot wait to get it. Although my gray one has some lace in the ruffle as well, this one does not, but I don't care.

Okay, sorry to get so far off topic, but I just wanted to share :P

OPI Black Shatter has arrived!!

YAY, Black Shatter is finally here!! I was soooo excited when it arrived!! I wanted to try 2 different manis, so I decided to layer it over a sparkly gold & then a flakie.

Here is the first one I tried....I did a base of Orly Luxe and then a coat of China Glaze Medallion, which FYI is my fave sparkly gold glitter! Black Shatter needs to be used over a 100% dry mani, and used VERY quickly. I actually prefer the smaller cracked looked, like in my previous post, but this is still nice.

Then I wanted to try it over a flakie, so I used a base of Love & Beauty, from Forever 21, and then added Nfu-Oh 50 over top.

1 word.......BEAUTIFUL!!

Now here it is with Black Shatter over top

Color Club Snowflakes...

So I know I posted about this before, when I got it in the Holiday mini set, but I just had to bring it out and use it again. I'm in love with this little thing. Color Club NEEDS o get this in full size! It just is so delicate looking, and looks like it's teeny tiny flakies, with such great sparkle!

I just had to try it over black, and once again, she amazes me!!

Color Club High Society is Covered in Diamonds.....

This is Color Club's High Society. It's such a great go to color, when you can't think of what to do. The application was great, just like other Color Clubs. I am really into shroom/browns & taupes right now, so this is perfect!

I felt it could use some spicing up though, so I just threw on CC Covered in Diamonds. I actually like this combo much more than I thought I would!!

I love all the colors that you can see from the flakies in this polish!!
