It's Matte-ning!

So I did a bunch of swatching today that I hope to get up on the Reviews site in the next couple of days, and the last polish that I swatched was Borghese Mediterraneo Sea. It seriously caught my eye when I was Ulta last and I'm SO glad that I decided (after much hemming and hawing) to get it. It's a Matte denim-colored base, with multi-colored glitter- much like if OPI Mad as a Hatter had a baby with a matte blue. (really descriptive, eh? Couldn't think of a matte blue off the top of my head) Today was crazzzzy. I decided this afternoon that I needed to get out of the house, so I went to the $1.50 theater here in Vegas and saw Knight & Day (don't judge me), and on my way out of the parking lot, some lady backed up into my car, with her bumper scraping down the entire side of my car past the middle of the passenger door. The irony? She had just gotten her nails done and was driving in a way as to not damage them. :-P I decided to make myself feel better, so I went to Arby's for dinner. lol Anyway, grumpy nail blogger = simple nails.

I used Borghese Merditerraneo Sea as a base, with China Glaze Millennium for the flowers, which I randomly painted on each nail. The glitter in Mediterraneo Sea makes a VERY textured nail surface, it's kind of interesting actually. I kind of want the other matte glitters from this collection because this one is so damn rad.

And as a bonus- a recent craft project (I posted this on Twitter yesterday, so you twitterers have seen it), my brand new slouchy hat. It is the very first hat I've ever made!! :)  (I love it)

My night of tough decisions......Wait....is that a vajay-jay on your nails? *nods* Yes it is :P

So tonight I was getting ready to do my nightly mani, and I just couldn't decide. Grrrr...I hate these kind of nights. One thing I can say, it always makes me try different things. So tonight, I have 3 different manis to share.

Okay to start off, I decided to use an untried I had. Ulta's Ultra Violet. It looks exactly like Color Club's version. This is a neon, so I had a hard time getting a color accurate pic, sorry. This is 2 coats w/ 1 coat Poshe.

Then of course, I was bored with it. So I added Color Club's Covered in Diamonds, and really liked how it looked.

But.....shocker, I wanted to Konad. So I removed the entire mani (sigh) and re-did the Ultra Violet, and.....wait for it......used the vajay-jay image from the BM16 plate. Now, I didn't come up with this name, but had heard it on MUA, and it fits! After I was done this mani, my hubbs came down stairs, looked at me....then my mani, and said 'Daddy likes', LOLOLOL, then walked back up stairs! I used China Glaze's Millenium for the design.

Alright I am finally off to bed. Night Nail world!! XOXO

NOTD - China Glaze VIII w/ Amour Rain Glitter

So today I decided that since I haven't done a nail design in a while, that I needed to. I received this China Glaze VIII in a package 2 days ago, & I decided to use that. Here it is before I used Amour's Rain Glitter for my design.

VIII is a deep eggplant purple, the application was great and this is 2 coats.

Here is Amour's Rain Glitter - This is my all time favorite glitter. It's got every color in it, and it's almost completely opaque in one coat!!!

Ulta Beauty Gems mini swatches...

So I had been eyeing these pretties up at Ulta for a while and about 3 weeks ago, I finally just caved and got them. Well here they are! I don't have many mini's, in fact other than these, I might only have 3 or 4 more. The application on these was great, and these are all 3 coats!

This is Amethyst, It's a metallic purple

This beauty is Emerald, it's hard to tell from the pics, but it's full of shimmer!!

This is my 2nd fave of the group, it's such a creamy color. Pink Ruby is her name
Now for my all time fave of the group.....Smoky Quartz! It's from the popular purple/gray group.
Well, that's all for now, I'm off to Target to get another polish container. Woop Woop!!

Let's Go For a Dip!

A FUN DIP!! I love candy of all kinds, but I particularly love all that is sour, tart, and fruity. Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip definitely falls into that category. The sugary-rush of goodness that rolls over me when I eat it makes me happy. (it makes my dentist happy too!) Today's nail art is dedicated to this tooth-decaying delight!

I used OPI Alpine Snow Matte as a base, with China Glaze Flyin' High mixed with OPI Gargantuan Green Grape for the 'wet' sugar powder, OPI What's With the Cattitude? sponged over that, and a smattering of OPI Alpine Snow Matte sponged over that to help it look like powder. For the cherry sugar powder, I used the aptly named Orly Pixy Stix for the 'wet' sugar, and Orly Cotton Candy sponged over it, with a small amount of OPI Alpine Snow Matte sponged on top for a powdery look. For the grape sugar powder, I used Eyeko Lilac Polish for Lovely Nails as the 'wet' sugar base, then sponged Orly Lollipop over it, and a touch of OPI Alpine Snow Matte over it.

I had to break some Fun Dip out, it makes me a little... well, they say a picture is worth a thousand words right?

Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Part 2!! Holo Edition!

Okay so these are the other three I feel so lucky to finally add to my collection! These are all Holos, my favorite kinds!

The first is Golden Tourmaline. A very bright red holo, which I can happily say I don't have already!! This was 3 coats

Here is Diamond, and that's exactly what she reminds me off. So sparkly! This is 1 coat over 1 coat of Sinful's Black on Black.

This is Purple Diamond, Diamonds little sister. This is also 1 coat over Sinfuls Black. I know if I was more careful, there wouldn't have been any drag, and black peeking through. Oh well, sorry.

Whew, okay now I'm off to play Xbox 360 with the hubby. Have a great night you guys!! XOXO
