An idea that would have been too much

So yesterday I mentioned buying 2 new Funky Fingers, well here is #2. This is called Sand and Stilettos, I <3 this name!!! Thinking this was going to be semi sheer like Golden Coast, I first used a base of Sinful's Black on Black. To my surprise, it was really almost opaque in 1 coat! Then I had this idea I wanted to do, since I had some fimo butterflies with me, but after I did the scotch tape design, I thought it would have been too much. So I just left it as is, and on my lunch break, will attempt my idea with other colors :)

I started with my black

Then added 1 coat of Sand and Stilettos

then half ass attempted my idea, lol, but here is a sneak peak, or idea, for tomorrows mani :)  I again used my black for the design & scotch tape.

Golden Fingers

Last week when I ran to Five Below, I love that place, I saw there were 2 new holo glitter polishes, so of course, they came home with me. Well, I finally decided to use them. This one, Golden Coast, I decided needed a base, so I used 2 coats of Confetti's Debutante first, and then added Golden Coast. I am soooo very pleased with this gold, although nothing compares to China Glaze Medallion, this might be a close 2nd.  Then I added Sinful's Black on Black for the tips :)

Here is Debutante alone

Then Golden Coast on top

a little blurry so you can see the holo goodness :)

and finally one of my fave things to do, the black tips

Bet you have never seen these!!!

Being a member of MUA, I was sooo excited when I learned that Jayna, had started her own polish company! I got a link to her Etsy store, here it is, and picked a collection and paid instantly. She had 3 collections to choose from, and depending on which you choose, you get the 3 polishes listed. I chose the Sweet Serenity set. I received them in the mail last night, and just had try them out, so here are a few swatches. Her packaging is just adorable!!!! The bottles are 5ml compared to lets say a Sinful polish bottle is 15ml.
I've just given up on my camera photographing these blues and my skin tone, At least the color is accurate. Aren't the flakies gorg!?!?! This was 2 coats :)

Oh and ignore the eff up. I'm only human :P

I am a fan of hidden shimmer, and this is so pretty!

Now for my fave of the 3! I love dark army greens, and hidden shimmer, but can you see the blue hidden shimmer!!!!!!!!

I love them all, and was really impressed with the formula. If you're interested in purchasing these, or just checking out the other collections, Her store can be found here. I can't wait to try the rest!

Gild the Lily

Last week, I showed a photo of the lovely flowers I received from my boyfriend. In the arrangement, there were several of a flower called Alstroemeria, which are commonly known as the Peruvian Lily, or Lily of the Incas. Since those flowers are still alive and going strong (all but the roses and one of the tiger lilies), I decided to use the Peruvian Lilies as inspiration for a nail art design. I love the way the color gradates from fuchsia to white with just a touch of yellow, then is punctuated with dashes of dark brown! I tried to represent it the best I could on my nail, using a drier brush than normal, and sort of 'flicking' from the cuticle toward the nail tip.

One of the Alstroemeria from my flowers- the inspiration!

and the nails:

I used MAC Vestral White as a base, with Finger Paints Heavenly Hydrangeas and Essence Surferama 'flicked' from the cuticle edge up, a mixture of American Apparel Trenchcoat and BB Couture Kokomo for the dash of yellow, then a mixture of American Apparel Hassid and Barielle Coco Bar for the dark brown dots/dashes. Topped it all off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat

WOOT! That's 3 posts in 2 days, trying to get back on track now that my hours are slightly reduced!! :)

Pink Flowers & Pearls

Well last night, I decided to do a subtle male mani, lol. What I mean, is a mani that won't stand out to much to men, since I have a big dealer meeting this morning, I didn't want to do anything too crazy but still fun.

For this I used, a base of Essie Merino Cool, Pure Ice Busted over top & then did the stamping with Pure Ice Outrageous.

This was my final mani :)

I started with 1 coat of Merino Cool
added 1 coat of Busted

Then stamped with Outrageous

and then, because they were sitting next me, I added some ivory pearls in the center of the flowers, on my ring fingers.
