St. Patty Patchwork

Okay, so I'll take a break from the Crackles *sigh* lol. Well since St. Patricks Day is coming up, isn't it, and I have a brand new St. Patty's Day polish from Five Below, I figured I should do a green Patchwork mani. For this I used OPI Gargantuan Green Grape, Funky Fingers Erin & Sinful Black on Black.

I started with 3 coats of Gargantuan Green Grape, 3, yep you heard right 3 freaking coats, man I forgot how much of a PITA this was. Oh well.

Then I taped them off, and added the Funky Fingers Erin. Such a pretty sparkly green, which I can say, I don't own anything like it. I then added a coat of SV.

For my final color, I added my fave go to black from Sinful. and another coat of SV

I am loving this soooo much!!!! If you are looking for a How-To on this, I have one posted up above in my 'Tutorials' tab.

Crackle Craze

So crackle polishes are everywhere now, and I'm thrilled. I know some of you just don't like the effect, and if you don't, you can skip this post and maybe tomorrows, lol. I just love the look. You also know how much I love my Funky Finger polishes, especially their glitters. Since I had finally received my China Glaze Crackles, I had to play, and like I mentioned, tomorrows post might be a few other manis I did with them. For this mani, I used China Glaze Cracked Concrete and Funky Fingers Blitzen, from the 2010 Holiday collection.

I started with 2 coats of Blitzen

Then added Cracked Concrete. This is pre SV

Now with SV

I actually kind of prefer it prior to my top coat. I think the effect and look is really cool!

An idea that would have been too much

So yesterday I mentioned buying 2 new Funky Fingers, well here is #2. This is called Sand and Stilettos, I <3 this name!!! Thinking this was going to be semi sheer like Golden Coast, I first used a base of Sinful's Black on Black. To my surprise, it was really almost opaque in 1 coat! Then I had this idea I wanted to do, since I had some fimo butterflies with me, but after I did the scotch tape design, I thought it would have been too much. So I just left it as is, and on my lunch break, will attempt my idea with other colors :)

I started with my black

Then added 1 coat of Sand and Stilettos

then half ass attempted my idea, lol, but here is a sneak peak, or idea, for tomorrows mani :)  I again used my black for the design & scotch tape.

Golden Fingers

Last week when I ran to Five Below, I love that place, I saw there were 2 new holo glitter polishes, so of course, they came home with me. Well, I finally decided to use them. This one, Golden Coast, I decided needed a base, so I used 2 coats of Confetti's Debutante first, and then added Golden Coast. I am soooo very pleased with this gold, although nothing compares to China Glaze Medallion, this might be a close 2nd.  Then I added Sinful's Black on Black for the tips :)

Here is Debutante alone

Then Golden Coast on top

a little blurry so you can see the holo goodness :)

and finally one of my fave things to do, the black tips

Another Shredded Mani...

I had tried another Shredded mani using one of Funky Fingers 2010 Holiday glitters, Blitzen. It's sooo sparkly! I just used my regular black as well. It was waaaaaayyyy easier to see the actual shredded part in real life.

Playing with Perplex....

So I finally got Revlon Perplex, Chanel's Pradoxal dupe!! I actually grabbed 2, but I'm saving 1 for a give away I'm going to have, along with some other prettes :) I'll probaby have it after the new year!! It really is such a pretty color, and the hidden shimmer is GORG! Here are a bunch of different manis, all using this!!!

Here she is all by her pretty self :)

Then I used my Bundle Monster plate, BM20 to do this design. I just used Sinful's Black on Black for the image

Here I did Perplex with Nicole's Pitch Black Glimmer over top

Annnnnnnd....of course black tips :)

Then I tried it under Barielle's Elle's Spell, and LOVED IT!!! You can really see the flakies in Elle's Spell now.

But add a coat of the Nicole Pitch Black Glimmer, and you have a very fun mani!!!

Happy Spirit Day!!!!!! A New Holiday I will happily celebrate!

I like to keep things light, easy & fun on my blog, but this is something I wanted to inform others about, and something I strongly believe in.

This is from TheNewsofToday.com and can be read in full here

"A special “unofficial” holiday has been set up by members of Facebook to honor 6 boys and many others who have taken their lives due to homophobic abuse. The Holiday is being called “Spirit Day” and it will take place all day on October 20, 2010.

A Facebook Event Page has been set up for those that will be participating in Spirit Day by wearing Purple. This is the information posted on the page:
“It’s been decided! On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 6 boys, and the countless others around the world, who have committed suicide in recent weeks due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools.
PURPLE represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality.
Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and schools.
You can visit the Facebook Event Page for Spirit Day, and click “I’m Attending” if you plan on taking part at: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=144778572233301. "

If you don't agree, or have a different opinion than mine, or others that are supporting this, that is completely okay, and I understand that everyone has different views. All I ask, is that you at least enjoy the manis!!

In honor of Spirit Day, here are my purple manis!!

Funky Fingers Jester

Nina Ultra Pro Purple-Xing

China Glaze Flying Dragon

Sally Hansen Purple Pizzazz

This is China Glaze Medallion over Flying Dragon

Pure Ice Cheatin over black

Now here are some fun manis I did in the past!!

This is Forever 21s, Love & Beauty in Lavender w/ OPI Lincoln Park After Dark matte, for tips

China Glaze VIII is the dark purple base and OPI DS Original was used for the Konad design

These are 2 different manis  I did using just a black polish for a base, and Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Turquoise Opal for the design.

I again used just a black polish for the base, and used Sally Hansen Grape Going for the tips

For this last one, I used China Glaze VIII for the base and Amour Rain Glitter for the tips
Hope you all enjoy these!!!
