St. Patty Patchwork

Okay, so I'll take a break from the Crackles *sigh* lol. Well since St. Patricks Day is coming up, isn't it, and I have a brand new St. Patty's Day polish from Five Below, I figured I should do a green Patchwork mani. For this I used OPI Gargantuan Green Grape, Funky Fingers Erin & Sinful Black on Black.

I started with 3 coats of Gargantuan Green Grape, 3, yep you heard right 3 freaking coats, man I forgot how much of a PITA this was. Oh well.

Then I taped them off, and added the Funky Fingers Erin. Such a pretty sparkly green, which I can say, I don't own anything like it. I then added a coat of SV.

For my final color, I added my fave go to black from Sinful. and another coat of SV

I am loving this soooo much!!!! If you are looking for a How-To on this, I have one posted up above in my 'Tutorials' tab.

A Patchwork mani with Across the Universe

Remember how I did a few manis using OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Matte??? Well here is another, lol.
I actually did this just for fun, when I had the OPI Deborah Lippmann, and black in my purse for like 2 days. I didn't wear this out, but just tried it to see how it would look. I actually really liked how it turned out, even though the black is kind of hard to see, oh well. I used Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe, Sinful Black on Black and OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Matte.

My "I'm ready for Paintball" Mani................Patchwork Camo

So my hubby and about 20 people spent this past weekend at our family cabin, to play paintball!! We play about 5-6 times a year. Well I wanted a mani that would hide my butt, lol. Well after a few too many tries, I finally found colors that I liked together. I did this the night before we left. You may notice in some recent manis, following this, I now have a burn going down my ring finger, %^$#@!$*&#!, well I didn't get hurt playing, but I did have to much to drink, and so did everyone else. Well, we decided that cooking hot dogs over the fire was a great idea......but it wasn't. I burned my finger on one of those pokey cooker thingys! What was my hubby's 1st response........................"How can you even stand to take pictures now?" meaning for you guys! GRRRRR

Anyways, I used Sinful Black on Black, Essie Sew Psyched & CC High Society, then topped it off with China Glaze, Matte Magic. Of course using Scotch Tape for the design :)

Here is a pic, of my hubby and I, a few trips ago. I don't have the new pics ready yet. Oh, and yep...my gun is pink! WOOP WOOP!

Patchwork mani Tutorial....

I posted this on MUA back on October 20th, here is the original post
http://www.makeupalley.com/m_116721515

So I figured I should post it here, and hope it helps you guys :) I will only show the 4 nails, that you see in the pic, but you get  the idea.

This time I started with a hot pink. Orly Purple Crush

I then put on a coat of SV, and let that dry.
Then I taped off my pinky, like so.
****Please remember to stick the tape to your palm before you place it on your nails. This removes some of the stickiness, and prevents the tape from pulling up your base polish. Sometimes you may need to stick it a few times. ****

Grabbed my 2nd color, black, and painted the non-taped section

Then pulled off the tape, and ta da

Next was my ring finger. I taped that off (still using the same piece of tape)

Painted the black

and pulled off

Middle finger

Painted it black

(forgot to take a pic when the tape got pulled off :(  )

Pointer finger

Painted it black (didn't get a pic again) and pulled it off

Then, when you're done all the nails, top them all off with SV and let it dry

Then go back to your pinky, and using 2 pieces of tape, tape it off

Painted on BFF

Then pulled the tape off

Ring finger

Middle finger

Pointer finger

I didn't get pics of the BFF being painted on the rest, because I figured you had the idea by then. but when your done............you get this!

Hope this helps!!!

Oh and if you notice the final step in painting the BFF on my ring finger, I had the tape in the wrong place, but I fixed it, and didn't get a pic.

My Official Spirit Day Mani!!! Patchwork Purples

Last night, I couldn't decide on what my purple Spirit Day mani would be. I had thought about the patchwork design for months, and decided to finally try it. What can I say.....I'm in love!!!!  You can read about Spirit Day in my previous post below if you're interested.

I started off with just a plain black

Then I used my trusty scotch tape, and taped my nail off, then used China Glaze LOL

Then again, I taped my nail off, and added China Glaze Grape Pop & this is what it looked like in the end!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited about this mani!!

What do you all think????  I was asked to do step-by-step instructions with pics, on MUA, so I will be doing a pink version of this tonight. If anyone is interested, I can post them on here as well.
Thanks for looking!
