Deborah...you did it again

I'm am so weak when it comes to Deborah Lippmann's glitter polishes. Man, why do they have to be so pricey though?!?!?! I was actually convinced that this one, I didn't need. That was until I saw so many pretty swatches of it, and I of course caved *sigh* This beauty is Glitter in the Air, it does have a very sheer/milky light blue base, so I first did a base of Sally Hansen Blue-Away, you can see my swatch of it here. It's a perfect light blue polish. I then did 3 coats of Glitter in the Air, and this is what I got, sooooo pretty. I ordered this on Barney's site, because at this price, they at least had free and VERY fast shipping :)

A Patchwork mani with Across the Universe

Remember how I did a few manis using OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Matte??? Well here is another, lol.
I actually did this just for fun, when I had the OPI Deborah Lippmann, and black in my purse for like 2 days. I didn't wear this out, but just tried it to see how it would look. I actually really liked how it turned out, even though the black is kind of hard to see, oh well. I used Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe, Sinful Black on Black and OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Matte.

Lippman Across the Universe Funky French..

Of course I had to do a mani with my new Lippmann!! So for this I used Across the Universe. I started out doing a full mani, and when I was done, I wanted to do another funky french with it, but I didn't want matte tips again, so I did this, and made Across the Universe the tips :P I LOVE it, I felt like I had gems on my tips!

Here is 2 coats of Across the Universe on its own

And of course, the final mani :P

Debbie Does French.....hee hee

My sister rocks! So last night I get home from work to find a package from Zappos. I know I didn't order anything from there, but when I opened the box there was 2 bottles of Lippmann polishes!!! Bad Romance and Across the Universe!! There was a message that just said 'Happy New Year', but no name :( I'm assuming it's her, my sis, since she knows about my wish list on my blog, and knows my address, lol. I just couldn't wait to try them. I know they're old news to you guys, but I'm SUPER excited! Just had to share. Oh and of course, tips HAD to be added, lol, and since I haven't used my OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Matte in a while, I felt the need to.

ps - please ignore the annoying pup hair that managed to make a debut in my ring finger tip, lol. I'm too tired to fix it

This is 2 coats of Bad Romance and the OPI on the tips

then the final mani

Deborah Lippmann - Ruby Red Slippers

Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers

Celebrating!

Hi guys! What's up? Today may not really be the time for vampy colors, since it's an excruciatingly hot summer day, but today is the day I've been blogging for six months so I wanted something festive! Only six months, it seems so long already!

Glitter

I think this polish is just fabulous! Red Ruby Slippers by Deborah Lippmann is a black jelly base with a mix of small and big hexadecimal hexagonal red glitter. Absolutely divine. It's like China Glaze's Lubu Heels on steroids!

Application

Polishes like these are never the easiest to apply though. You really have to be careful when it comes to the placement of the glitter, it can be all over the place! I actually had to use a stick to immediately push the glitter back in, away from the cuticle, while it was still wet. Normally I like to layer wet over wet, but this one needs a little bit of drying time between layers. But it's so stunning to look at, that I'm gladly taking this for granted!
You can wear this at two coats, but I applied 3. It does dry bumpy and not so glossy, so you definitely want to bring out the top coat. I applied 3 layers of Nubar Diamont to create a smooth glossy surface.

Deborah Lippmann polishes cost between $16-$20 for 15ml each. You can order them online at deborahlippmann.com

Thanks so much for stopping by and see you next time!
