I Hear It's Hot Down Under

Day 102

:-D So for years (since my first trip to vegas before I moved here in 2005, to be exact), I've had a love affair with the best thing to come out of Australia besides Heath Ledger, Australian male revue... the Thunder From Down Under! Don't get me wrong, I'm not usually big on the typical male stripper type, but something about the trifecta of ass, abs, and accent gets me every time. :-P Honestly, I think it's the accent most of all. Aussie accents never fail to make me swoon. These guys are always a fun show to watch, with backflips, stripping, dancing, and lots of grins, they definitely know how to make a gal feel special when you talk to 'em too. Today's nails are dedicated to those hunks from down under, even those that keep their clothes on for a living, though they aren't NEARLY as fun. ;) So next time you're in Vegas, send me an email, and we'll ALL go see some bare Aussie skin, it's definitely worth the cost of admission!! :-D

The nails:



I used Ultra Pro in Blue Blaze as a base, with American Apparel Cotton for the stars, etc, and China Glaze Salsa for the red. Topped it off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.

OPI - Kinky in Helsinki

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I really needed a cheerful bright color, because I'm really fed up with this winter, it's time for spring! :-).

This is Kinky in Helsinki (you gotta love that name), by OPI. My mom actually got it off Ebay because she knew how much I liked it and it's not that easily available anymore, how sweet is that??

It needed 3 coats, which I hate, but I figured it was worth it. This one probably is a rerelease from the European Collection (2002) as OPI rereleased the their best selling colors as a celebration of their 20th anniversary and named it the Colorcopia Collection. Kinky In Helsinki was one of those :-).

I really like the fuchsia color and the slight blue flash it has. Plus it's really glowy which I love.

Who else has had enough of this depressing weather?!

Kawaii nails ♥

Round nails galore!!!

OMG. I am so in ♥♥♥ with round nails these days, or rather obsessed. Hahaha! Don't get me wrong, I still think square nails are pretty but round nails are just my type of nails now. Shit, must be the influence of Nail Max and Nail Venus.

Anyway! 3 sets of gel nails. Totally ♥ them, no color chipping, super glossy and durable. Did lots of gel nails lately.

Oh and for the first time, I'm posting all nails without crystals.

1st up. Pastel leopard prints! My first time doing gel leopard prints. It's usually hand painted on, but this time round, gel colors!


Design from Nail Max. Did slight modification to it. Tiny round green disco balls lined one by one and is embedded within the gel.


I am melting. I want this design on my nails!

2nd! Pink round tips with black n white polka dots!

The kawaii-ness! ♥♥♥!

Wire Stripper!

Mijn anonieme handmodel had niet zoveel zin om nog een keer zijn nagels te laten lakken dus ik laat deze zelf wel zien. ;)

English: My anonymous hand model didn't really feel like having his nails polished again so I'll show you this one myself. ;)



Wire Stripper is een zwart-bruine basis met een brons/koperkleurige shimmer die hem een haast metalige look geeft.

English: Wire Stripper has a blackened brown base with a bronze/copper coloured shimmer which gives it an almost metallic look.


Applicatie was wederom erg goed. Ook deze is dekkend in twee laagjes. Iets anders dat me opgevallen is wat niet vaak genoemd wordt is dat deze allemaal erg makkelijk te verwijderen zijn. Ze glijden met een klein beetje remover zo van je nagels af.

English: Application was again very good. This one is also opaque in two coats. Another thing I noticed and which is often neglected in reviews is that these all are very easy to remove. You only need a little bit of remover to let them glide of your nails.




De laatste in mijn serie BB Couture lakken dus dit lijkt me een mooi moment om een algemeen oordeel te geven. Ik ben erg onder de indruk! Het zijn niet de goedkoopste lakken maar ze zijn hun prijs ook dubbel en dwars waard. De dekking erg over het algemeen erg goed, ze lakken fijn en er zitten erg mooie kleuren bij. Ik ben zeker van plan om er een aantal aan te schaffen in de toekomst.

English: This was the last one in my BB Couture series so this seems like a good time to give a general verdict. I'm impressed! They are a bit pricey but they are worth every penny. Coverage is very good in general, application is a breeze and they have some beautiful colours. I'm definitely planning on buying more in the future.
