The Old Man is Snoring

Hey all!! So it rained all weekend here in Vegas. ALL weekend. Seems like all it ever does is rain here anymore- isn't this supposed to be the desert?! Well anyway, in honor of the monsoon-like weather (lightning, thunder, downpour, flooding) that we've been getting so much of here in Vegas this year, I did stormy nails. I even got to use my new American Apparel polish that I got yesterday. :-D I'm so happy they're back!! I managed to snag the ones I didn't buy the first time around because they were sold out.



I used American Apparel Factory Grey as a base, with Orly Mirror, Mirror for the clouds, Orly Snowcone for the raindrops, and American Apparel Manila for the lightning bolts. Topped it off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat to trap the storm on my nails so it can be sunny for a few days. :-P

And yes, that is my umbrella I'm clutching in the photo.

Classic french design in gel

Did this set of nails today. The reason for posting this is that I haven't been posting classic french designs for awhile. And of cos, the 3D hand made ribbon on her thumb. :D


Looks likes it's painted using nail polish eh? No, this is all done using gel. Fuss free, no color chipping, dry to the touch when it's done! yeay!


Added a handmade 3D ribbon on her thumb and tons of blings. It looks prettier in real life....

Ciaté - Camilla

Hi everyone! Are you enjoying your last day of the weekend? Today I have a very special polish I'd like to show you. When Natasja sent me some P2 polishes, she included two gorgeous Ciaté nail polishes as a gift for me and my mom! They're really pretty, I can't thank you enough Natasja! You definitely know what our taste is like ;-) So today, I'll be showing you one of them: Camilla. I'm not really familiar with this lovely brand from the UK, but I do know these are a bit older, since they've changed the bottle. Camilla is a gorgeous purple with an amazing golden shimmer. The shimmer is really obvious in the shade, but when sunrays hit her, it's absolutely gorgeous. Purple is one of my favorite colors and I love contrasting shimmer, so how could I not fall in love with this one? Application of this polish was outstanding, I only applied two coats and it went on very smoothly. I also tried the David top coat for the first time, and I absolutely loved it! Well.. I think I'll let the pictures do the talking..

Ik had gisteren eindelijk weer eens tijd om een fatsoenlijke mani te doen dus hier is China Glaze Grape Pop, gestempeld met China Glaze LOL en Konad plate M64. Ik houd van ton sur ton manis!

Voor het geval iemand het zich afvraagt: Grape Pop is net zo dieppaars als P2 Chic maar Chic is een beetje roder. Als ik tijd heb deze week zal ik proberen nog even een vergelijking te maken want die heb ik ook al een tijdje niet meer gedaan.

I finally had the time to do a proper mani again yesterday so here is China Glaze Grape Pop stamped with China Glaze LOL and Konad plate M64. I really love ton sur ton manis!

Just in case anyone is wondering about this: Grape Pop is just as deep purple as P2 Chic but Chic is a tad more red. If I can find the time this week I'll try to do a comparison because I haven't done those in a while.




Mijn flesje Grape Pop was spiksplinternieuw maar had toch wat verdunner nodig. Dat hoor ik veel meer van anderen op forums en blogs. Ik weet niet helemaal wat ik daarvan moet vinden maar ik heb bootladingen met verdunner dus het was voor mij geen probleem. Na een paar druppels en even goed schudden was de formule prima.

Dit is twee laagjes over Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics Wet Dream (basecoat) en met Nubar Diamont. Daarna heb ik gestempeld en nog een laagje Diamont aangebracht.

My bottle of Grape Pop was brand new but needed to be thinned anyway. I've heard this a lot from others on forums and blogs. Not quite sure how I feel about that but I have boatloads of thinner so it wasn't a problem for me. After a couple of drops and a good shake the formula was great.

This is two coats over Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics Wet Dream (basecoat) with Nubar Diamont. Then I stamped it and applied another layer of Diamont.




Dat was het weer voor vandaag. Morgen ben ik vrij en gaan we eindelijk onze nieuwe fietsen laten aanmeten. Hopelijk valt de levertijd mee want ik kan niet wachten om eindelijk weer lekker boodschappen op de fiets te doen. Wie weet kan ik deze zomer zelfs wel op de fiets naar college. Deze fiets 'krijg' ik:

That's it for today. Tomorrow is my day off and we're finally going to have our new bikes fitted. I hope the delivery time isn't too bad because I can't wait to go grocery shopping on my bike again. Maybe I'll even be able to go to classes on my bike this summer. This is the bike I'm getting:
