Qing's nails.

I did the first set months ago and totally forgot to post it up. Until I recently did her nails again only did I realised that. -.- Yes I guessed you all should have seen this set of nails posted by her months ago... she is Qing. Love this girl and her nonsense. HAHA. You can enjoy her nonsense here. =D

Baby blue with soft glitter, with lace and white bows! She designed her own nails. ;D

She always knows what designs she wants (sometimes v complicated?) and I always try to psycho her into doing something simpler (save time and energy cos her nails are very tiny, very difficult to draw ahhhh). Am I complaining or what? Hahaahaha.

The second set which I just did for her in Dec! Again, she modified and created her own design. :) For colors and design like this, we usually extend and paint them with nail polish. But I love to create them using gel colours cos the colours won't ever chip and they're so glossy!

Funky and elegant.

Long round nails! Royal purple + peach orange. And a touch of gold and crystals! Does this reminds you of royalty? :D

Something funky! Hehehe.

I may need to see a Dr. I think I was poisoned, lol..........

So about a month ago I was browsing eBay for polishes, when I came across this listing, that had a picture of what looked to be such an amazing polish! It doesn't have a name, but maybe referred to just the #189. The listing, from what I recall, just called it Purple Glitter. It was coming from another country, so I waited very patiently for about 2 weeks. Which I know isn't long, but for me......was a lifetime :( Well when it finally arrived, and couldn't wait to try it. When I first opened it, I could see it was very sheer, but that doesn't bother me at all, since I love to layer. I grabbed my Petites Wild Plum, and just did 1 coat of that, then added my new pretty. It really is GORG, but the smell...........can I just say that I'm pretty sure my insides might be permanently damaged from this stuff, but who cares when it looks this good! If I'm ever to do another full mani with this stuff, I will need to be in some kind of open pasture, with Vicks Vapor Rub, under my nose! This was also the polish, that I had used in this post, in the very last mani, on my tips

First Advertorial !

ADVERTORIAL : I NAIL IT

Hello I-Nail-It readers! Joycelyn, the lady who did pink roses on yellow on new year's eve was kind enough to post an advertorial for me on her blog. I'll paste it below; alternatively, you can visit her blog at http://joycelynquek.blogspot.com/ to see the advertorial. I'm a happy happy girl! =D

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! (:
how did you spend your new year? i had a great time at butter with my lovely clique dancing the night away!(: It's a brand new year and since recently i've gotten my brows and hair done, alvin got me a new dress and wedges *squeals at pretty things*, i thought why not do my nails as well to welcome 2011! fresh year, fresh start! everything must be new! hahaha!
this is my first experience doing a home based manicure at I-NAIL-IT!

Valerie, the manicurist was a pretty quiet and friendly young lady. i love quiet manicurists cus i just love to rest when im having manicure and not answering tons of their questions! besides, i have teevee companion thus i did not feel bored at all! she is located at clementi. it sounds really far from my place but to my surprise, the place wasnt difficult to locate at all! (: all it took was a 15-20 mins drive!

valerie was meticulous in painting and designing my nails albeit slightly nervous cus she's still an amateur to this. however, the end result was pretty good! she uses THE FACE SHOP nailpolishes thus her services are slightly cheaper than the rest. it cost only $2 per nail whereas manicure salon charges about $3 to $5 for a nail depending on design! whoever says cheaper range of nail polishes cant give you a result which is equally good? its time for a mindset change in 2011! teehee.

please ignore my short stubby fingers! hahaha. she painted the roses using acrylic colors petal by petal! it was really hardwork and patience, kudos to her cus i will never find that kind of steady perseverance in myself.

i went to her with different length of nails :/ she had to shape all my nails to look equal and good to go for a great manicure! i have very dry and brittle nails and they break all the time, especially my first three fingers. valerie advised me to take a glass of milk every morning to build up calcium in order to strong and hardy nails! results are definately tested and proven, according to her! (:

YAYYY I HAVE GORGEOUS NAILS! (:
boyfriend loves it too. he loves it when i have beautiful nails haha!
the cuticles remained because i didnt have time to do a classic manicure.. love the design nevertheless! the rough edges were caused by yours truly because im as usual, a klutz ):
by the way, i ended it off with my own essie matte!

it cost only $26 for my entire set of lovely nails including express manicure! (OMG! its super worth it, isn't it?) i save at least whopping 50%compared to manicure salons out there! i can totally do it TWICE here while only ONCE outside!

i understand that most people might be apprehensive of home based nail salons as they feel that they might not be as professional. i used to have this mentality till i've tried valerie's services today and i definately have to beg to differ! also, i believe she will come out with a series every season since she had a variety for xmas and were mad cute!!! so sad i missed it ): if you have a design in mind, you can show her and she will try her best to do something for you along that line! (:

get your nails pampered for the upcoming CNY and VALENTINES! surprise your boyfriends with a lovely manicure. trust me, guys DO notice girls' nails as they feel that it plays an important role in her grooming! they do not say it but it cant be more true that they will be impressed if you have nicely groomed and painted nails, trust me! (:

visit her website at www.i-nail-it.blogspot.com
you can leave a message at her tagboard if you are interested to have a manicure session with this lovely lady!

do note that this promotion only last till CNY! so hurry, get your slots with valerie soon!
do share with me your experience after you tried her services, dont be shy! (:

Happy New Year everyone!!!! Another checker mani........

I really hope you all had a great New Years Eve! I had a blast and spent it with all our neighbors, which really are the best! I can honestly say....I'm sooo glad the holidays are over! Anyways, on to the mani. I know I've done a checker mani before, but I wanted to add more squares, instead of my regular 4. Yep, I love it, but won't do it again, lol. It took forever!!!  I used China Glaze 2NITE and Sinful Black on Black. Also, since I did this on my lunch break at work, I forgot to take pics as I went along.

Sweet Pink Roses on Yellow

Joycelyn came over to get her nails done on New Year's Eve. Felt quite apologetic actually, cause initially, she was going to do a classic manicure at a nail salon before coming over for the design. But she couldn't make it for the nail salon in the end so came straight to my place. My white had already finished cause I thought she was painting her nails before coming, and had to settle for yellow in the end. Sorry babe! But nevertheless, I felt that the end product was pretty nice! Joycelyn will be doing an advertorial for me on her blog @ http://www.joycelynquek.blogspot.com/ Stay tuned!

Happy New Year!

What a crazy year. Seriously, ups, downs, middles, late nights, early mornings, great people. I truly have loads to be thankful for as this year comes to a close. I have wonderful friends and loved ones, I'm employed, and I've become friends with all of YOU! You all have been such a huge part of making this year what it has been, and for that, I'm eternally grateful! You helped me reached my goal of 365 days, and helped me make the decision to keep going. You've understood and been patient when there are days (or multiple days) since I got the second job where I really just don't have the time to create a nail design and post it. You've emailed me ideas, you've offered both praise and criticism, and most of all, you've changed my life.

As we embark upon this new year ahead of us, I will do my best to continue to make this blog a place for inspiration and laughs, and make it a place you still like to visit.

My blog resolution is to make more time to respond to emails and posts (I DO read them all!!) and make sure I get swatching and reviews done in a timely manner.

And, now to the nails...

I used Orly Luxe as a base, with Color Club Sultry Diva over it. For the New Year Baby and Old Man Time, I used American Apparel Mannequin for the skin, American Apparel Hassid to outline, and MAC Vestral White for the white on the robes, sashes, and diaper. For Old Man Time's beard, I added a touch of American Apparel Hassid to the white to paint the beard, and for the scythe I used American Apparel Raccoon for the handle, and China Glaze Millennium for the blade. Topped it all off with 2 coats of Seche Vite.

So... Happy New Year! May 2011 be the best so far, but not the best to come.
