Illamasqua's Spring/Summer 2011 Toxic Nature Collection

Morning everyone!! Well, after much arguing with hubby and my bff/neighbor, I went to the dr. ps. I HATE the dr. It's sort of an anxiety I have, I don't know it's weird, anyways, I have Bronchitis *sigh* At least I got my antibiotics. Okay enough of that, on to some fun.

While being home sick, I got a surprise package from Illamasqua, I had no idea what it was, but I discovered it's 3 of the new polishes from Toxic Nature!!!!! Alex from Illamasqua, was so sweet to send these to me for my review. I was soooo excited, and of course, coughing my brains out, attempted my swatches, lol, and after about 300 pictures later, I finally finished. You should have seen the blurry messes I took while coughing. Now, some pics are taken in different lighting, I was trying my hardest to capture the true color, but since two are neons, my camera had issues.

According to the paper I got with them, these are available as of March 10th in the US, and in UK stores March 17th. There are a total of 5 in the collection:

Purity - Peach
*Bacterium - Pearlescent Ash Ochre

*Radium - Acidic Lime Shimmer

Stagnate - Grey Mauve

*Gamma - Neon Orange

* - these are the 3 I received

I also loved their photos they did for this collection. 

Now, I only owned 1 Illamasqua polish before this, but I really love their bottles and their formula is among the best out there. It goes on so easy with minimal effort

Okay onto the pics finally!!

2 coats of Bacterium. This is my fave of the 3, although there are semi brush strokes, I don't care, it's such a unique color, and that's what I love!

Radium, this is soooo bright, that my camera has a hard time with neons :( There was no sun today either, so maybe tomorrow I will post some sunlight pics, if we get any. The shimmer in this is beautiful, and trust me, it's much brighter in person.

Gamma, now I'm not a huge orange fan, but I love it. It really is neon, so once again, my camera was angry, lol. Maybe tomorrow, if there is sun, I'll try again, but again, WAY brighter in person.

My very 1st Illamasqua!!!!!!

I am VERY excited to say, I finally own a Illamasqua, lol, and a color I've wanted for a while, Baptiste. As soon as I got home from work, I slapped it on for my mani, and was instantly loving it. 
Let's be honest here, I really can't remember a time, that I actually wore a mani, with no type of nail art done to it, so of course I Konaded over it :P I used China Glaze Harmony for the design.

Illamasqua Hectic

Nu we toch bij het onderwerp Illamasqua zijn: dit is Hectic.

Ik heb haar niet zelf maar mocht hem van IceRozie proberen op de play date. Dit is drie laagjes over een basecoat en met Nubar Diamont als topcoat.
Ze lakt in eerste instantie wat streperig en heeft die drie laagjes echt wel nodig om goed dekkend te zijn maar wat een schitterende kleur! Net niet helemaal troebel genoeg om in de categorie blubber kleuren te vallen maar ze heeft wel een wat stoffig uiterlijk.
Ik zal vandaag of morgen ook even een post maken met foto's van de play date die ik beloofd had!

English: I don't have her but IceRozie let me try her on the play date. This is three coats over a base and with Nubar Diamont as topcoat.
She is a bit streaky at first and she definitely needs those three coats to be opaque but what a beautiful colour! Not quite murky enough to fall in the category blubber colours but the us a bit dusty.

Cheaper Version Of Illamasqua Baptise And a Giveaway!

Wil je Illamasqua Baptiste zonder het prijskaartje? H&M verkoopt Goddess On Stage en deze is een haast perfecte imitatie!
Ik heb nog geen vergelijkingsfoto's voor je maar tijdens de play date een tijdje terug heb ik ze wel naast elkaar gezien op een nagelwiel en ze zijn nagenoeg gelijk. De een heeft een iets grovere shimmer dan de ander maar de kleur is identiek.

De geweldige IceRozie heeft aangeboden om als gastblogger een post te maken over deze en andere dupes die ze ontdekt heeft dus die post kan je nog verwachten. Ze is een wandelende nagellak encyclopedie!

I don't have comparison pics yet but I did see them together swatched on a nail wheel on my play date a while back and they are practically dupes. The shimmer in one is a bit coarser than in the other but the colour is identical.

The wonderful IceRozie has offered to do a guest post on these and other dupes she discovered so you can expect that in the future. I swear: the woman is a walking polish encyclopaedia!

Met flits/With flash

Dit is drie laagjes maar twee laagjes was genoeg geweest als ik niet zo spastisch gelakt had of als het niet met supermacro op de foto gezet hoefde te worden die uitvergroot kunnen worden tot een 15" scherm. Foto's zijn gemaakt bij kunstlicht.
Er is verder weinig te zeggen. Geweldige lak, geweldige kleur en ik ben er zeer blij mee!

English: This is three coats but two would have been enough if I hadn't been such a spaz while polishing or if I didn't have to take super macro pics that can be enlarged to a 15" screen size. Pics are taken with artificial lighting. There isn't much to say. Great polish, great colour and I'm very happy with it!
